The Jay Haide range of instruments has been developed by I.F.Shin Violins of Berkeley California over several years in collaboration with master European luthiers. All Jay Haide instruments are hand made in China from quality seasoned spruce and flamed-maple and have a tonal quality and workmanship that is normally found in instruments costing considerably more. These cellos have been designed with the advanced student and semi-professional in mind, regardless, these instruments represent very good value for money for everybody. Venetian Model a l'ancienne

The J. Haide cello featured below is the Venetian model with 'L'ancienne' finish. I receive these instruments without any fittings so the entire 'fit-up' is performed in my workshop to exacting standards by me. The pegs fitted are good quality ebony, bridges are Chevalets Despiau or Albert, end pins are good quality German. Included in the standard offer are a set of Pirastro Evah Pirazzi strings and either Thomastic or Wittnerr tail pieces with built in adjusters. These cello models are available with either an antiqued finish ("a l'ancienne") or the standard finish, in both cases very well executed.
